The solution of World PvP in World of Warcraft

The concept that attracts many gamers, myself included, to the MMORPG is the prospect of exciting and engaging player-versus-player combat. For those of you who don't understand, I'll try and explain:

What engaging PvP IS:
-Spontaneous
-Large-scale
-Rewarding
-Risky (this doesn't mean item loss)
-Non-repetitive

What engaging PvP is NOT:
-Repetitive (see what I did there?)
-Limited (locations, number of participants, etc)
-Rewarding ONLY as a function of time
-Based only on simple objectives like controlling a tower

Folks, it's pretty simple. In order for PvP to be truly exciting in this game, we need large-scale battles in any location, with REAL effort and tactic involved in achieving UNIQUE rewards.

THE SOLUTION

There are THREE pieces to this solution.

1. An entirely separate World PvP Honor System
-Restore the original honor system; rename the rank titles
-Honor in this system can only be accumulated OUTSIDE of battlegrounds
-A unique reward set applies to this system by obtaining ranks (just like the old system)
-In addition to rank, a Reputation system would be utilized to allow players to acquire acclaim for their performance

BUT: Ranking up is based on an accumulation of World Honor Points which are gained AND LOST during the course of battle.


2. Legions: A new method of player-grouping
-Unlike a Raid, has a capacity of 100 individuals
-Is NOT invite-based; they are zone-based and are openly-joinable through the PvP or LFG menu
-A certain number of participants can vote to boot a player from the Legion
-A certain number of participants can vote to elect a player Commander
-Entire legion receives rewards upon victory
-PvP Objectives (see below) can be activated for the entire Legion to try and achieve


3. Objectives
-reward World Honor Points
-always result in a zone-buff that applies to both PvP and PvE
-can only be completed with the effort of a Legion
-are Offensive and Defensive
-Offensive will only rotate once the present Objective has been completed
-DEFENSIVE objectives are activated when the opposing faction controls your town/etc.

TYPES:
-Control (i'm talking TOWNS here, not some castle tower in the middle of nowhere)
-Decimation (the legion must kill 1000 of the opposing faction, etc)
-Defense (see above)
-open to more suggestions...

It is likely that these ideas will never be implemented. My hope is merely that it will spark some much-needed and hopefully-intelligent discussion on ways in which we can reform the current system. Thank you for reading.
